Volunteer Driver Transportation/Automobile Waiver of Liability
KeoweeCares for You offers the Need-A-Ride program made possible by Volunteer Drivers providing no-charge transportation services to Keowee Key residents (Clients) who are unable to drive themselves. Volunteer Drivers are not employees of KeoweeCares for You, but are civic-minded Keowee Key residents offering their personal vehicles and time to assist their fellow residents.
Volunteer Drivers must maintain automobile insurance that meets or exceeds the State of South Carolina’s requirements for drivers of personal vehicles.
As a Volunteer Driver, you attest that your driving record does not show any of the following:
- DUI violation within the last 10 years
- Vehicular manslaughter, racing, or hit and run
- Speeding in excess of 25 mph over the posted speed limit
- More than 1 at fault accident in the last 3 years
- Six (6) or more accumulated points
KeoweeCares for You cannot accept responsibility for the mechanical condition of a Volunteer Driver’s vehicle and assumes that any needed automobile repair/maintenance that is required in order to operate the vehicle in a safe and lawful manner is the responsibility of the Volunteer Driver.
KeoweeCares for You cannot assume liability for accidents or bodily harm that may result from an accident when a Volunteer Driver is transporting Client(s) in their personal vehicle.
By signing this form you acknowledge these terms and agree to accept full responsibility under your own personal automobile insurance for any accident/bodily injury resulting from an accident in which you as a Volunteer Driver are operating your own vehicle.
